Melrose House Gardens
The Enchanting Gardens of Melrose House
The public gardens surrounding Melrose House are a part of the original estate of Charles Fowell Willett Watts and his wife Elizabeth. The garden was primarily established by their daughter, Frances, and her husband Percy Bolland Adams, with the help of their gardener Joseph Busch.
Surrounding historic Melrose House is a charming public garden and historic woodland.
Many fine trees in the garden planted at this time endure today. The house exterior and garden are maintained by Nelson City Council who have added to the attractive setting, which is now popular for weddings and garden parties.
