The Colonel Noel Percy Adams Trust (Melrose) Society was established in 1974 when the house and grounds were gifted to the Nelson City Council by Colonel Noel Percy Adams.
The trust is a registered charitable, not for profit incorporated society comprised solely of volunteers who oversee the governance of the house. The grounds are maintained by Nelmac.

Current Projects
Our focus for 2012 is the refurbishment of the stairwell and ground floor toilets, for which we are currently seeking funds.
Recent enhancements include the installation of a fire sprinkler system, ceiling and under floor insulation, radiator central heating system, replica period door hardware and period style drapes.
In addition there are general repairs and maintenance plus on-going work to replace the original fixtures and fittings which were stripped from the house and sold at auction in the
early 1970's.
All improvements and
refurbishments must be funded by donations.

LEAVE A LEGACY
FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS
Nelson Bays Community Foundation will receive and hold your bequest or endowment on behalf of the Colonel Noel Percy Adams Trust (Melrose Society) to ensure Melrose House remains protected and maintained in perpetuity.
We invite you to be a part of the legacy of generosity in which the house was originally gifted to the people of Nelson.
The mission of the Foundation is to prudently invest funds raised from donations, grants and legacies, leave the capital intact and distribute the earnings to organisations in the Nelson Bays area according to the donor's wishes.
By working together we can all help preserve Melrose Historic House for future generations.
